Advocating for Accountability and Reform

in all Family Court Practices

We are committed to meaningful change in the family law system. A justice system is only as effective as its judicial officers’ willingness and ability to follow and enforce the law in the courtroom. Our work is to document failures, demand accountability thru class actions, and pursue reforms so that judges and court personnel are held to clear legal and ethical standards. By enforcing existing laws, advocating for necessary statutory changes, and educating the public and lawmakers, we aim to create courts that consistently protect rights, apply the law fairly, and restore public trust.

Our Mission Statement

Our Mission

California Family Court Accountability & Reform (CFCAR) is dedicated to protecting the health, safety, welfare, and fundamental rights of children impacted by California’s family court system.

Our mission is to promote accountability, and meaningful judicial oversight while addressing systemic practices that may compromise children’s safety, developmental needs, access to appropriate healthcare, mental health treatment, educational services, and overall well-being.

We advocate for child-centered, evidence-based judicial decision-making that prioritizes children’s best interests, recognizes their individual developmental and disability-related needs, and ensures that relevant professional evaluations, medical recommendations, and documented safety concerns receive appropriate consideration.

CFCAR seeks to strengthen accountability within the family court system, advance legislative and institutional reform, and ensure that children and families have accessible, timely, affordable, and effective avenues to seek relief when their rights, health, safety, or welfare may be compromised.

Through legal advocacy, class actions, strategic litigation, legislative initiatives, public education, research, and statewide collaboration, we work toward a family court system that protects children, respects due process, and places their health, safety, and welfare above institutional convenience and most of all a system held accountable for their lack of accountability in family court.

Our mission is not simply to identify systemic failures and hold accountable the systems in place but to create meaningful, lasting reforms that protect children, restore public confidence, and ensure that justice is accessible to the children and families who need it most.
