                The Journey of Change

                Picture
My endeavor and passion to assist women is birthed out of my personal life experiences of trauma (sexual assualts, domestic violence, physical, emotional, and mental abuse) and its aftermath of homelessness, victimization, self-hatred, and shame; all of which manifested in many areas of my life; but more importantly, and unknowlingly I passed the shame and self-hatred I felt as a result of the trauma to my children; my life played out again.

The wreckage of trauma bombarded my life for many years; pain after pain, rejection after rejection, betrayal after betrayal, and abandonment after abandonment seem to be normal; as a matter of fact, they became my best friend.  However in 1999, I began to learn to love and appreciate myself; the new barrage of love I was feeling compelled me to establish Living Running Wells of Life International Outreach, an organization designed to assist individuals with their spiritual walk.  However, I soon found myself desiring to help others understand the complexity of their lives, the connection to trauma that may have contributed to the complexity, and the affects that carry there after.  I established the Center for Change and Reconciliation designed from a trauma informed care perspective, coupled with a holistic view of care that assist homeless women and their dependent children with the transition of putting together the fragmented pieces of their lives to arriving at a place and experiencing wholeness.

My journey with trauma has instilled a compassion for women who have experienced trauma, homelessness, incarceration, domestic violence, substance abuse, sexual exploitation, and victimization.   For this, I sacrifice my time and knowledge to assist women and children in finding their worth, their inner strengh, and their greatness.

I thank you for joining hands with us to help those that cannot help themselves, and thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to visit our website.

                Warmly,
                Michelle Wafer
