About
CFCAR was birthed in 2003 by our Founder and Executive Director, Michelle Wafer. The guiding principles then and now are life experiences potentially prepares an individual for fulfilling purpose and for being a greater asset to others experiencing similar situations. Ms. Wafer believes those impacted by adverse experiences have a greater call and responsibility to go among the highways and byways to disseminate knowledge and extend hope and encouragement to those challenged by similar experiences, particularly homeless women.
Since the birth of CFCAR, we have held a great concern and passion for assisting homeless women and their dependent children that have been bombarded by negative life experiences. The service providers of CFCAR believe homeless women's specific needs are often not given the attention needed to recover and become healthy, productive individuals. At this time CFCAR's primary focus is to provide gender responsive programs and holistic, supportive services in an environment in which women and children are encouraged to grow in maturity and to connect with others.
